Risky decision making is an important branch in the field of decision-makingresearch. Adolescents’ growing higher risk behaviors make them become the mainobject of the research. Previous researches have focus on the difference betweenadolescent and adult decisions and whether they have similar cognitive processingcapacity just like adult. They also have explored the influence of emotional state,emotion regulation ability and description of the task itself on adolescent’s riskydecision making. Domestic research on the relationship between adolescent’s emotionalintelligence and their risky decision making is less and spotty, and also not delve intopeer effects on adolescent risk decision.In order to explore the relationship between adolescent’s emotion intelligence andtheir risky decision making, and the peer’s influence on it, our research chose478examinees from junior middle school to high school. We survey the current situation ofthe development of teenagers’ emotional intelligence through the emotional intelligencescale. Using the BARTY task to explore adolescent’s risky decision makingcharacteristics which is much more close to the real situation than other experiments.We through correlation and regression analysis to search what’s relationship betweenemotional intelligence and risk decision-making. The way that peer participate inadolescent’s decision making is also concerned as an influence factor.These results showed:1. There is no gender difference on adolescent’s emotional intelligence and theirrisky decision making, but gender difference is observably. The difference of emotionalintelligence between three junior high school grades is not obvious and so as the seniorhigh school students, but senior high school students’ emotional intelligence is muchhigher than junior high school students, this indicates that adolescent’s emotionalintelligence have development in senior high school, meanwhile, the seniors tend to bemore risky than junior students. Emotional intelligence and risk decision-making issignificant positive correlation.2. The main effect of the way that companions participate in adolescents’ riskydecision making is significant: teenagers can communication with peer inclined to make more risky decisions than those who can’t talk to there friends. The gender different isnot significant means that no matter girls or boys, they all tend to make risky decisionwhen there is a friend, peer involve increase their tendency of risk.3. Interaction effect of emotional intelligence and peer participation is significant.
