The Research Of ’Distinct Material’And ’Distinct Interest’ In Poetic Theory Of Canglang

As an important work on poetry, the book named The Poetic Theory of Canglang by Yan Yu receives great attentions and owns special status in the history of poetics. In the present thesis, a study is presented to combine the concrete works and based on the comment on Libai Poetry Anthology by Yan Yu, the connotation of ’distinct material’and’distinct interest’ is discussed. In the present work, five sections are included. Firstly, the theoretical origin of’distinct material’and’distinct interest’ will be investigated; then, the connotation, aesthetic characteristics and era significance of’distinct material’and’distinct interest’ will be studied in the second and third section; following that, attentions will be focused on the relationship between’distinct material’ and ’distinct interest’, and the relationship between these two concepts and’enlightened’ and ’stirring and excitement’, combined with the understanding the poems appreciated by Yan Yu and the comment on Libai Poetry Anthology. In the last section, the influence of the concepts of’distinct material’and ’distinct interest’ on the literature works in the period after Song dynasty will be studied. In conclusion, the influence of’distinct material’ and ’distinct interest’ on the literature work in the long period after Song dynasty and the misty poetry in the new period is studied in the current thesis.
