In Chinese traditional culture essence-spirit has a deep meaning than "spirit" and "mind". Jingshen is a compound word of Jing and Shen, which refer to two aspects but in same meaning. So it can be said that Jing is the essential thing and Shen is the source.Jingshen is the source of the whole creation, including human being ourselves. It exists in the developing process of things. No one can tell it is a substance or immaterial thing, a moving or static thing, a vacant or noumenalthing. But in today’s world, this essence-spirit has faded off, this phenomenon not only happened in China, but all over the worldwide. What caused this happen and how can it return back? Sung Confucians has a special situation in traditional teaching, as it rejected the decadent mind of dark society in Song dynasty. The philosophy of Chu is a master of Sung Confucians, with a boundless creativity. What would he say if he sees this faded situation. And Jing has become a new thought of that time and has a great influence on the later Five Dynasties, contending with foreign Buddhist culture. Jing represents the culture of Chinese nation, to raise our spirit to the gods. Then how does Jing make this, is there any special process and where is the end.
