Study On Image Oil Painting With Urban Theme

In broad sense, the “city” refers to reflection of human nature in city. The ancient recordabout Tower of Babel also implies that we should be cautious to weaknesses of humannature while we establish modern city. Although that is a remote era, there is increase butno decrease in human’s desire with change of time. The thought brought by change anddeterioration of urban survival environment becomes the main line of the content of thispaper.From perspective of art development history, the content of artistic works is graduallydeveloped from true image to true essence. The occurrence of western abstract painting artand conceptual art form also deeply influences the development of Chinese image oilpainting.However, the image oil painting has poetry form of expression and it can bear moreemotion in the works; in terms of form of expression and technique of image oil painting,there is no strict limitation on form and content. In current domestic exhibition, the imageexpression always runs through many domestic artists’ works in painting, sculpture,device, and image, etc. From different perspectives, the artists are concerned about life,make reflection on life, and explain their attitude towards life through their works.Through analysis on relationship between content and form, this paper explores how tostate essence of things through city theme in a way of ideogenetic image expression. Themain body of picture is not specific and typical image or specific event, but the emotiondissociated from the picture. The emotion is taken as prime power of creation, and theabstract graph existing in real life is taken as starting point to describe the complicatedfeelings and thoughts brought to people by hidden danger existing in urban development,as well as expectation for return of human nature to divinity.
