Employees’ creativity is the magic weapon of the eternal vitality of the enterprise, andthe ways to stimulate employee’s creativity have become the focus of enterprises. As akind of the ancient human phenomenon, the power is a new topic in psychology. Socialpsychologists investigated the effect of power on individual mind and behavior in a socialsituation from the point of view of social cognition, and accumulated abundant researchresults. But the empirical research on power and creativity is few. In this paper, weexplored the relationship between the individual power and creativity of employees, withthe cognitive flexibility and tolerance for ambiguity as mediation effect, which partly filledin the empirical research about power and creativity. Through the questionnaire survey of298employees, we used the collected data for exploratory factor analysis and confirmatoryfactor analysis, deviation analysis, the reliability and validity of the common method,correlation analysis and regression analysis by SPSS17.0and AMOS17.0to verify thehypothesis of this study model, and concluded:First, the sense of personal power does not show significant differences in gender, age;and does show significant differences in the working years and cultural degree.Second, employee creativity does not show significant differences in gender, age,cultural degree, and does show significant differences in age;Third, the sense of personal power has significant positive effect on employeecreativity;Fourth, the sense of personal power has significant positive effect on the cognitiveflexibility, has significant positive effect to tolerate for ambiguity;Fifth, the cognitive flexibility has partial mediation role between the sense of personalpower and employee creativity, tolerate for ambiguity has partial mediation role on therelationship between the sense of personal power and employee creativity.This article research has certain theoretical and practical significance, jumping out of the traditional research framework in theory. The paper provides some new insights toexplain the creativity from the cognitive perspective of power and enriches the extensionand application field of the theory of situation focusing on power. In practice, it providessome basis for person-vocation fit and talents selection. In the end, according to the results,this paper puts forward some suggestions for enterprises and employees, and proposessome deficiencies and prospect of the study, in order to broaden the research train ofthought for later generations. |
