Changli Diyangge of Hebei Province is one of the four most characteristic dances. It has been well received in the first national folk music and dance performances.Today’s Changli Diyangge still stay active in the fields. It was included in the nationalintangible cultural heritage list in2006. However, through literature review, I foundthat only few researches were specialized in music related to such an important folkdance.Through fieldwork, I believe that Changli Diyangge is unique in terms of music.First, the Diyangge music gradually formed its own way of playing after thelong-term matching with dance performances. Secondly, Changli Diyangge is alsoknown as Chang Yangge, a performing form mixed with dancing and singing. However, with the development, the part of folk songs has disappeared. ChangliDiyangge has changed from the dance with songs into the dance with music. Theseaspects are worthy of analysis and discussion. The author began to do fieldwork since the year of2012. Having collected a lotof first-hand information, the author wrote this paper based on the fieldwork. Thispaper describes and analyzes the conditions of Changli Diyangge, music forms, andinterpret its changes and the reason of changing. This paper is divided into four chapters. The first chapter is the description offieldwork. The study shows the existing conditions of Changli Diyangge throughexamples, situational analysis and comparison. The second chapter studies the musicforms about Yang’ge Qu by analyzing the instrument, track classification, musicalstructure and the means of changing to reveal the laws of music. The third chapterdescribes and analyzes the Younger Diao and other singing content. The fourthchapter is a depth interpretation of the music changes and explores the cause ofchanging in the historical context and contemporary context. The conclusion are as follows:1, Nowadays, the music of Changli Diyangge is aninstrumental form without Yangge Diao;2, Suona gradually formed its own way ofplaying with the matching of dance performances;3, Although affected by theChinese opera, Changli Diyangge still lack of condtion to develop into Chinese opera;4, Changes from gewu to yuewu is caused by the interaction of artistic characteristics, living environment and accidental events. In addition to remedy the lack of research in this area, this paper also providesreferable textual materials for the research of changes about Chinese folk music. Moreover, the author’s discussion about the evolution of folk dance into Chineseopera also provides a research ideas and angles for other scholars.
