An Analysis Of The Relationship Between Duoduo And "the Misty Poetry"

Duoduo is one of the most eminent contemporary poets in China. He began writing poem since1972and has been the recipient of many important literary awards for his excellent writing skill, unique style, profound metaphysical connotation. However, critics started to pay attention to his work only around the beginning of1990s. With the launch of the activity "Finding the Baiyang Dian Poetry Community" conducted by the journal of Poem Exploration in1994, he was gradually recognized by critics and then criticism on his poems began to appear. At present, critics defined Duoduo as a "Misty poet" and this is the basis on which researches were conducted. The focus of those researches is on his poetic skills and languages, etc.There is no systematic study on the relationship between Duoduo and "the Misty poetry". There are questions remained to be solved, such as why Duoduo was defined as a "Misty poet"? Is he really a poet of this kind? His writing experiences, for example, the period of his writing and the publication of his works, are different from "the Misty poets"; the characteristics of his poems such as the content, image, language, musical features are obviously different from those of "the Misty poetry". The relationship between Duoduo and "the Misty poetry" is complicated. It is related to not only his writing experiences, poems but also the definition and construction of "the Misty poetry", and the strategy of writing the literature history. Nevertheless, we should correct the wrong classification of Duoduo’s poem, his poem does not belong to "the Misty poetry"...
