Disgust is one of basic human emotion, which can prevent infections and avoid the socialproblems. To understand the origin of disgust is very important to our daily life. Rozin Et al. putforward “disgust evaluation system” to explain the origin of disgust, who emphasizes that disgustisthefeelingofan ideaofpollution.Anthropologist Douglas puts forward the taboo culture, and emphasizes the dirt and purejudgment, thinks that human instinctively afraid of being polluted by the dirty things. Dirty thingsarealways polluted, which make somebody nauseaand hate. Douglas also expounds the idea aboutdirt and classification system. The dirt and pure judgment is based on social classification systemand individual classification behavior. Rozin Et al. and Douglas both emphasize the idea ofpollution is necessary to the disgust. Combined ideas, classification behavior or classificationtendencywillaffectdisgustevaluationor not?This study is to through three empirical studies to explore classification behavior andclassification tendency will affect disgust evaluation or not. Study one is an exploratory research, toexplore the correlation between disgust sensitivity and classification tendency, preparation forstudy two and study three. Study two through experiment to explore the different classificationtendencies (high classification tendency and low classification tendency) will affect disgustevaluationornot. Studythreeexploreclassificationactions willaffectdisgustevaluationor not.Thefollowingmain conclusions:(1) Disgust sensitivity is greatly related with classification tendency, which influence eachother.(2)The different classification tendencies havea significant effect on disgust evaluation. To bespecific, high classification tendency’s subjects tend to score high, low classification tendency’ssubjectstend toscorelow,and bothhave thesignificant difference.(3)Thedifferentclassification actionshavea significanteffectondisgust evaluation.
