| In Chinese classical philosophy, the evolution of the nature is defined as male andfemale, which reflects on humankind as man and woman. The development of human needsthe coexistence of man and woman. From the beginning, literature is used as a mirror forpeople to see and recognize them, children’s literature is a more amazing one through whichwe can discover the world and the more beautiful wishes people have in their hearts. Chinesetraditional recognition of male and female is gradually becoming the social and culturalpsychology of Chinese people and the moral rules, values Chinese people automaticallyobey and thinking ways of the world for them after the long time historical and socialdigestion, inheriting and finally fall into a stable pattern.As two representative writers of contemporary children’s literature, the image of brotherand sister portrayed by Qin wenjun and Zheng Yuanjie is the major research objects of thepaper, which will focus on the gender recognition and construction of the children’sliterature by analyzing the characters.This paper is divided into four parts: Part one is the theoretical foundation of the paper,and illustrates that children’s literature is the carrier of the social gender culture; Part two is adetail analyze of the double brother-sister image portrayed by Qin Wenjun and ZhengYuanjie, respectively elaborating the boys image and girls image and their genderrelationship; Part three analyzes the reasons of image creation and concludes that they arethe inheritance of aesthetical evaluation and historical culture and representing the socialexpectance; Part four elaborates the influence characters’portray on social gender from threeaspects: psychological hints, characters’ location and social construction, thus promotingpublic recognition of the influence the portray of male and female characters in children’sliterature on the social gender recognition and looking forward the harmonious sexualrelationship between man and woman. |
