With the development of globalization, especially since its entry into the World Trade Organization, Chinahas been accelerating its pace in attracting foreign investment which serves as an important base for the overalldevelopment of China and its industries. It not only brings in advanced technologies and management expertise,but also instills more vitality to China’s market economy. In recent years, due to the negative influence ofsubprime mortgage crisis and debt crisis in western countries, China’s exports have been decreasing. As a result,investment invitation has become one of the most important channels for local governments and enterprises toenhance regional economic development, solve fund shortage and increase job opportunities.As a pragmatic text, the translation of Investment-inviting Project is to achieve the cross-language andcross-cultural communication, and to improve the success rate of inviting investment among enterprises.However, translation studies in this field have not gained sufficient attention. This report is based on theChinese-English translation of Longnan Investment-inviting Project. In view of the length (26,000Chinesecharacters) and the time limit (20days), this project was cooperated by translator himself and his classmate.Based on the current status of CE translation of Investment-inviting Project as well as its types andcharacteristics, this report described the whole translation project, chose its related strategies and methods, andmade the case analysis in order to make more translators understand this field. Meanwhile, it is hoped that thecurrent study can devote certain share to the Pragmatic translation of China as well as writing and translation ofInvestment-inviting Project.
