A Study On The Phonetic Of Immgrant Origin Dialects In The Area Between Hui And Gan

This study is part of the National Social Science Fund Project,a research on thestatus and history of Hui language in jiangxi province under the view of geographicallinguistics (10BYY021). The area among Wuyuan,Dexing and Leping in thenorth-east of Jiangxi,is the transition and separating place of Hui dialect and Gandialect,Xiuyi(Xiuning and Yi county) area of Hui dialect and Qide (Qimen andDexing) area.In this transition place,Mingkou town,in Leping city and Xucun town inWuyuan county;Xinying town in Dexing city and Caocun town in Wuyuancounty,are two pairs of immigrant origin area because of the direct contacts ofresidents in history.We choose Mingkou dialect,Xucun dialect,Xinyingdialect,Caocun Dialect,Ziyang dialect,which is the representative dialect of Lepingcity,Ziyang dialect,which is the representative dialect of Wuyuan county,record anddescribe the phonetic system and analysis the phonetic features on the basis offieldwork.We use30phonetic items as a reference to make a overall phoneticcomparison of the six dialects and a point-to-point phonetic comparison of the twopairs of the immigrant origin dialects.In this study,we make a theoreticalsummarization of the phonetic features which are shown by the two pairs of theimmigrant origin dialects,through the lateral contact and vertical origin relationshipin the development of Chinese dialects by the overall and point-to-point comparison.
