In this paper, in order to research whether the different input paths of pinyin andcharacters have an impact on the students’ learning efficiency in the early period, aswell as the subsequent Chinese character learning. The research object are the learnerswho have a high demand of mastering Chinese characters, and learners in immersionChinese learning program. The mainly adopted research method is to set up threekinds of class type, use different teaching and display ways, proceed the comparedexperimental teaching. Then have two times of test, collect test data, use the excel andSPSS software to analyze the data. Also visited a school which puts Chineseimmersion program into effect, finished two days of class observation, had aninterview with the Chinese teacher who is in charge of this program.The conclusion is: three different teaching ways of pinyin and Chinese charactersfor students’ learning Chinese will not cause significant difference. The average testscores of Chinese character class is the best. For the subsequent Chinese charactersstudy, three kinds of class type cause significant difference which including the bestmean test scores is Chinese character class. In Chinese characters class there are nostudents loss, however the phenomenon of students loss was found in pinyin class andpinyin-characters class. It indicates that for Chinese learners who have a high levelrequirements for mastering Chinese characters, first make use of Chinese characters todisplay, and based on a group of Chinese characters, acquire the Chinese phoneticsystem, after accumulating about100Chinese characters, give a simple introductionof pinyin, finally return to the using of Chinese characters to display and teachChinese, this is a feasible way.
