Speech style, style for short, is commonly called language style in linguistics. Styleis the result of using language, and a kind of atmosphere that is embodied in expressingmeans limited by subjective and objective factors. Expressing means is not only thebasis of style, but also the symbol of style. Phonetic expressing means mainly includerhythm, alliteration and assonance, and repetitive rhyme and so on. The object of thisstudy is the phonetic features of frontier fortress poems in the Tang Dynasty.Combination the study on rhythm, alliteration and assonance, and repetitive rhyme, thisstudy is intended to analyze the effects of different phonetic expressing means and theoverall language styles of frontier fortress poems in the Tang Dynasty. Finally, it isexpected that the results of this study are helpful for the further study of frontier fortresspoems in the Tang Dynasty.The dissertation is divided into three chapters:Chapter I-Introduction: A brief description of the purpose and innovation of thisdissertation, research range, survey and methods, and corpuses used.Chapter II-The phonetic features of frontier fortress poems in the Tang Dynasty:1:Research on rhyme. Among frontier fortress poems, the major rhyme in the martial onesare soft, while sonorous is the minor. Sonorous and soft rhymes in the nostalgic ones areroughly the same. In the third ones, soft rhymes are dominates whereas sonorousrhymes are rare. The other ones are mostly comprise of sonorous rhyme. With regard torhyme scheme, rhymes in every other line are the most common one, meanwhile, andform of change in rhymes, the random change in rhymes are findable.2. Research onrhythm,the rhythm used consists of two parts, one is inside rhythm in which2/3and4/3predominate, another is outside rhythm in which the same rhythm predominates.3.Research on alliteration and assonance. The major of alliteration are glottal and glosses,the minor are sibilance and labial. Assonance mainly consists of sonorous whichrepresents a bold and vigorous style. Soft repetitive rhyme is little more than sonorous.The aim of this part is to analyze the overall phonetic features of frontier fortress poemsin the Tang Dynasty and serve as arguments for the coming chapter.Chapter III-The styles of frontier fortress poems in the Tang Dynasty. Thefeatures of rhyme, repetitive rhyme, alliteration and assonance, and the overall phoneticstyle are described. It could be concluded that the styles of these poems are various,such as bold but gentle,concise but meaningful, elegant and informal, flourish andunadorned, and implicited.Conclusion-An outline of the above which summarizes the phonetic features andstyles of frontier fortress poems in the Tang Dynasty.
