The Classic of Mountains and Rivers is a s special book in the Chinese tradition,many scholar have interest on Classic of Mountains and Rivers because of the abundantcontent and unique feature it has. And, there are also much achievement these scholarshave got. The paper study Classic of Mountains and Rivers by the view of ecocriticismwhich is used more and more popular in recent years to find the awareness aboutecologism which is useful for our known more about the book, which also is useful forour development of our society. The paper can be divided to three: first part intrude theargue about the character of the Classic of Mountains and Rivers, then this partdiscussed the category of the myth by prototype category theory and put the Classic ofMountains and Rivers in the category of myth. The second part paper analysis theecology awareness in the Classic of Mountains and Rivers by combine theecocriticism theory and the Chinese tradition culture. The part analysis emphasizes thecontent which is conforming the ecological holism,natural aesthetics and eco-eden inthe Classic of Mountains and Rivers. This part also point out the awareness which isantiecological.The third part discussed the thought that in the period of the Classic ofMountains and Rivers borend.the paper used research method ofliterature, interdisciplinary research methods and some logic method. There are threeinnovation points in the paper: the combining of ecocriticism and Chinese ancientliterture,the useless of interdisciplinary, the discuss about the period of the Classic ofMountains and Rivers and the Chinese tradition culture. All in all, the paper finds thatthere so much ecological consciousness in the Classic of Mountains and Rivers.
