Vocabulary teaching is the most basic part in the TCSL, which is throughout the whole teaching from beginning to the end. In the vocabulary study, adverbs of degree have always been an important point. Although compared with other adverbs, it is of little quantities and of simple grammatical rules, the internal members are of obvious characterizations, of flexible combination with other words and of widely use. It’s hard to distinguish tiny differences of the adverbs of degree even for the Chinese people whose mother tongue is Chinese, let alone for the foreign students. The study of adverbs of degree includes the vocabularies and the grammars, which makes it more difficult for the foreign students to learn. Adverbs of degree from Chinese tutorial are analyzed in this thesis. The research objects are defined as "quite, too, very much, a little, more, most, tiny" according to error ratios in the Chinese corpus. Under the guidance of inter-language and error ratios theoretical analysis, four types are concluded. Moreover, the difficult points are summed up about the adverbs of degree teaching. The four parts are as follows:Part I:Research status and methods. The reasons of this research and the research progress and the existing problems are included.Part II:Errors analysis of the adverbs of degree used by foreign students. Firstly, according to the corpus analysis, the biased errors are divided into four types:addition, replacement, disordering, omit. Secondly, according to the theoretical knowledge, the reasons for the biased errors are analyzed like the mother tongue of negative shift, the complication of the adverbs of degree itself, and so on.Part III:According to the common biased errors, the difficult points of adverbs of degree are summed up. First of all, the relative adverbs of degree and the absolute adverbs of degree are distinguished at the macro levels. Furthermore, the difficult points are differentiated by semantics and grammars. Later, the specific teaching and learning strategies are brought up according to the above analyses.Part IV:Taking the adverbs of degree as the example, teaching designs are virtually exhibited, and those are application situational teaching and contextual practice.
