| With the further implementation of the reform and opening-up policy, China is getting more and moreengaged with the world. As a result, exchanges are becoming more and more frequent. As an important force thatdrives these exchanges, translation talents are catching people’s attention.Liaison interpreter as one kind of the translation talents, has its own requirements and features. The author,taking his own experience as a liaison interpreter for the6thUNWTO International Meeting on Silk RoadTourism, wants to show the requirements and features of a liaison interpreter as well as to share his ownexperience for readers’reference.The present report consists of seven chapters. The first chapter describes the background and purpose ofthis report. The second chapter has a general description about the task focusing on its background, major workand task features. The third chapter presents the preparations made by the author. The forth chapter sheds lighton the formulation of contingency plans from two aspects: interpreting work and non-interpreting work. Thefifth chapter deals with some problems occurred during the task and shares with readers some measures taken bythe author. The sixth chapter works as a work evaluation and the last chapter gives a summary of the wholereport. |
