As the development of image source traditional Chinese aesthetics and oilpainting today, the prerequisite of imagism oil painting culture, which reflects thepursuit of Chinese aesthetic context. In the background of Chinese history andculture as well as the philosophy concept, imagism oil paintings have experienced akind of natural-developing process. Imagism oil painting is not only refer to onesingle genre or painting style, it’s emerged from the western oil painting, and thendisseminated by local Chinese culture, and arisen in the process of continuingcombine. It has an obvious Chinese flavor. the formal language of imagism oilpainting can reflect the artists’ personal mind and temperaments and also thesubjective consciousness which can be seen as the express of artists aestheticcharacters. Imagism oil painting, under the circumstances of traditional Chineseculture’s collision and combination with the newcome western culture, has arisen aform of traditional Chinese local characteristic. The whole essay totally divided intofive chapters.The first chapter is mainly about the image source,cultural traits andthe aesthetic value of imagism, which provide theory evidence to the imagism oilpaintings. The second chapter is mainly about the background of imagism oilpainting, and give a concept of it’s appear in China as well as analyst and discoverthe characteristics of the schema features and conditions. At the same time, giveexamples to explain some of the schema features and conditions of the imagism oilpainting. The third chapter is the most important part of the essay.
