After the1980s, along with revival of the culture craze of Hakka, Chinesemainland’s Hakka documentaries had emerged on TV screen gradually. The Hakkadocumentaries had created a “image of Hakka ethnic group” from history, spirit,folk-customs and status etc. Hakka documentaries had combined traditional Hakkaculture and mass culture in contemporary, formed a unique cultural phenomenon.This test has drawn lessons from the method of “symptomatic reading” whichadvanced by Louis Althusser, the first,this text has process a plain reading to findout clear major idea of Chinese mainland’s Hakka documentaries;And then analyzedthe Hakka documentaries more widely, found out the rupture, incompletion andellipsis, unspoken, silent, blank of Hakka documentaries, besides analysed thecauses why they exist.
