The purpose of this study is to investigate the methods of the analysis ofthe test quality of large-scale examination and the initial establishment of thehigh-quality item bank. Massive selective examination is of great significancefor the education sector and individual candidates, so the quality of itsscientific analysis is particularly important. By analyzing the quality of theexam, we can know whether the item could reflect the information of thestudents with different ability levels to the utmost and ensure fairness andjustice to a certain degree. The quality of English test for grade three highschool students is analyzed with Rasch model; then the procedure and methodfor constant model referential test is discussed and the specification andapproach for designing a test is proposed. Accordingly, basic items and datafor item bank of the fundamental education test are accumulated.Rasch model is a latent trait model which has attracted internationalinterest among researchers. It provides a promising solution to ensuring theobjective measurement in psychological science. However, the research andapplication of Rasch model are not as popular as expected among domesticscholars.Unlike general IRTs which adopt a positionof “the model fits data”and use different parameters to accommodate the idiosyncrasies of the data set,the Rasch model requires that “data fit the model”.Its unique features,including the same metric shared by persons and items, data linearity, andparameter separation, ensure the achievement of objective measurement. The results showed that:1) The distribution of the difficulty of the examination items is relativelygood. The items can adequately reflect the amount of information of thestudents with moderate ability levels, but they can not fully reflect that of thestudents with higher levels.2) Based on the Rasch model, an objective analysis of the data on the subjectcan be acquired, high-quality subjects being easily screened to establish itembank.3) Rasch model makes it possible for education departments of grass roots toestablish high-quality item bank and to organize the paper scientificallyaccording to different exam purposes or functions on the base.
