The Study On Historical Building Protection Measures In The Process Of Urbanization-regions

After China’ economic reform, the rapid developments in urbanization and growth ofeconomy in China enable urban construction to be in full swing throughout the vast land.According to incomplete statistics, by the end of2013, China’s urbanization rate has reached50percent. But in the process of urbanization, historic buildings which should be saved and protectedhave been seriously damaged and demolished by humans. There are very few of historic buildingsleft and they are also slowly fade out of the public eye.Ganzhou as the third national historical and cultural city, has numerous historic buildingswith great research value，such as the biggest and best-preserved ancient stone wall--NorthernSong Dynasty Brick stone walls, the magnificent tourist resort and also the source of the famousBajing culture--Bajing Pavilion, the great legend in city water conservancy architecturehistory--FuShou groove, and the Northern Song Dynasty pagoda, etc. These ancient buildingshave constructed the truly "songcheng museum" of Ganzhou. But in the process of Ganzhouurbanization, we also encountered the issue of how to protect these historic buildings, this articlenot only introduces the basis and principles of the protection of these historic buildings at homeand abroad, analyzes the success cases of Shanghai Xintiandi; and also describes thecharacteristics of the historical evolution of Ganzhou city and traditional vernacular housings style;Then we analyzes the impact of urbanization in Ganzhou to historic buildings; Finally, fromconstruction, economic and social point of view, gives several constructive suggestions for therenovation of historic buildings in the old city center in the process of Ganzhou urbanization.From the analyzation of today’s protection and renovation cases of historic buildings at homeand abroad, this paper aims to find a lot of available and practical experience to provide thereference for the protection of Ganzhou historic buildings in the old city center and the futuredirection of the Old City.
