Translation Practice Report Of Xinjiang Tourism Text From Chinese To English Under The Guidance Of Cultural Function

Xinjiang boasts a long history, with not only abundant tourism resource but alsounique minority folk custom and culture. The translation practice of the text onXinjiang tourist attractions and festival customs of ethnic groups makes me find thatthe translation of that of Xinjiang varies from those of other places because of itsunique geography and humanity, which contains abundant cultural connotation. Atpresent, Xinjiang has become a tourist destination of more and more foreign touristsfrom home and abroad, the translation of the text on Xinjiang tourist attractions thusbecome more and more important. Therefore, the translation of the text on Xinjiangtourist attractions should lay extra emphasis on how to introduce the uniquegeography, humanity, history and minority culture of these tourist attractions toforeign tourists. However, because of the cultural differences between China andwestern countries, the key of this translation practice is that, on the one hand, how tointroduce the culture connation as well as possible, and on the other hand, the text ismuch more acceptable to foreign tourists. This practice report explains how totranslate the text on Xinjiang tourist attractions which is cultural connotative to targetreaders by using some translation methods. Although there are still someshortcomings, this translation practice provides a reference to the translation of thetext on Xinjiang tourist attractions.
