The Analysis Of Personality Development

The personality in Marxist human studies is the product of long-term social life foran individual, which is different from any other animals’ individuality, but the individualsubjectivity. As individual subjectivity, personality is only possessed by humans.However, it develops with the continuous development of human existence and it is notfixed. Most of scholars at home and abroad conduct human’s personality developmentresearch from the disciplines such as sociology, psychology, ethics. Based on the theoryof historical materialism, this thesis aims to make a macroscopic and systematicelaboration for human personality in philosophy level from the perspective of Marxisthumanism.According to Marx, human is a special individual, and the particularity of himmakes him a realistic and individual social existence, while personality is reflected byevery single person in the characteristics and quality which the society has trained on him.Characteristics and quality mainly manifest in the basis of concrete social form and socialproduction relations, such traits as man’s subjectivity, orientation, uniqueness andintegrity. The promotion of personality development means to stimulate the inner qualityof individuals in the social practice for the purpose of improving their ability andaccelerating their all-round development. Practices show that the function and meaningof human personality development turns to be more and more important in the process ofhuman development and social development. Specifically, the significance is mainlymanifested in the following aspects. The promotion of human’s personality developmentis a necessary and logic result of Marxist humanism; It Shakes off the yoke of thetraditional system and thoughts; It is the internal requirement of creating moderncultivation talent; It is the urgent needs of the socialist modernization construction.However, in the present social life, the old culture and system still confine humanpersonality development. The exam-oriented education and the traditional livingenvironment always linger on human personality development, and personalitydevelopment still faces many challenges. Therefore, for the purpose of promoting the personality development, people have to unceasingly renew the idea, continue to deepenreform and improve the socialist system. Thus, it can provide ideological andinstitutional guarantee for human personality development; schools have to be providedwith quality-oriented education in order to improve the quality of education. Then, it canpromote the development of individual’s subjectivity, initiative and creativity; Peoplehave to reinvent those inappropriate living environment to support human personalitydevelopment; people have to comprehensively improve the modernization level andcombine the socialist modernization with human personality development for the purposeof opening modernization channel for human personality development and promotingpersonality development in the process of modernization.
