But at the same time, people come from different ethnic group and culture,have some common understandings with the world as well. Based on the analysis tothe bird’s imagery appeared frequently in the poetries, this paper compared thedifferent temperament of arts of the two men, Qin Guan, the Chinese poet in SongDynasty and Percy Bysshe Shelley, the British poet in the19th century, and furtherreflected the different aesthetic taste between the Chinese and western, and thesimilarities during the differences also.There appeared many bird’s images in Qin Guan’s poetries, which expressed thehomesickness or lovesickness of the poet, and fully reflected the lyricism of thepoetry, and embodied the poet’s sensitive heart and poignant artistic style as well.There are also many bird’s images in Shelley’s poetries, in which the “To askylark†is more well-known as the famous lyric poetry of the poet. This paper isfocusing on the series of the bird’s image in Shelley’s poetries, to dig into its deepmeaning, and to analysis the romantic style of the poet further.Comparing the bird’s images in Qin Guan’s poetries with them in Shelley’s, theformer emphasis on expressing his emotion through natural scenery, but the latter paymore attention to symbolize and elucidate philosophic thoughts. The bird’s imagesreflect respectively the implicit aesthetical psychology of Han nationality and theenthusiastic cultural trait of the west.The bird’s images convey the mood of sorrow or joy. The images of sorrowhave a lot in common, such as always has sad and plaintive tweet; usually match darkhours, environment and season of cold tune; and some symbolic meanings come frombeautiful myths and legends.
