To the overseas students who are in the process of studying Chinese, thepronunciation studying is one of the most important parts. Mandarin phoneticsystem includes three parts: vowels, consonants, and tones. By the methods ofexperimental phonetics, this article is focus on the analysis of the production ofChinese monophthongs, diphthongs, triphthongs by the Indonesia, South Koreanand Tai land student who are in different Chinese studying levels. Based on theresearch and comparison study, it is found that the three countries students whetherin the first stage of study, or half year to one year, or even more than one year study,there are still some errors in their pronunciation of mandarin vowel finals. Amongall the mandarin vowels, these students are best in studying Kaikouhu vowels,better in Qishihu vowels, followed by Hekouhu vowels, at the last they are not asgood as other kinds of the vowels in the Cuokouhu vowels. Above these vowel, themonophthong//and//, the triphthong ‘iou’ and ‘uei’ are not included. Thepronunciation of these four vowels are special, the three countries students’ errorsare serious. Compared the pronunciation between the three countries, it can befound that the Indonesia students are relatively better than the other two countriesstudents. Tai land students take the second place; many Korean students have deeperrors.
