The word "fuzziness" is originated from description of a state of an object by a language. In the objective world very few objects are understood, and the unknown objects are incalculable. Even knew understanding can be drawn from the recognized ones. That’s why people have the world view accordingly in the objective world remoulding process that the world is an integration of the diversity and objects are related to each other. The diversity, uncertainty and variability are also the target to be understood and demonstrated. The fuzziness in graphic design is the fuzziness of visual semantics and the visual experience relevant to the aesthetic experience and visual semantics. This fuzzy perceptual experience, is not the ambiguity in the usual sense, but the development, complement and emotional resonance projected on the aesthetic sense from the ambiguity and accuracy of human thinking. The fuzziness of visual semantics is ubiquitous, which has attracted much attention of scholars today. However, such study of fuzziness phenomenon in China remains relatively late, lack of understanding. The fuzziness of visual semantics is universally existing, which is both outward and inward demonstrated. This phenomenon is much concerned by the contemporary scholars. This thesis tries to elaborate on the principle of the fuzziness and its application in the graphic design. It researches the aesthetic features of fuzziness in the graphic design, illustrates and summarizes the theory of fuzziness, its communication, specific demonstration form and application. The fuzziness theory is mainly based on the defining of the connotation and features of fuzziness. In communication of visual semantics, the theory focuses on the exploration of fuzziness in graphic design, such as the features of fuzziness. the demonstration of fuzziness in the relation of picture and meaning as well as the basic elements, all of them belongs to the inward demonstrations of fuzziness. The outward forms which fuzziness performs are the integration, abstract, accidence and illusion, etc. In application, we can use these forms of expression to convey richer and deeper information. The last part is the sublimation of the author’s study on the fuzziness embodied in the works.
