| The ideology of ChunTzu put forward by Confucius, founder of the philosophy of Confucianism, has greatly influenced the later generations and is of great value in contemporary society. Focus on the philosophy of Confucianism, the thesis has a further study of the ideology of Chun Tzu, thus exposing its contemporary significance.Firstly, the thesis has a study of the social background and the main values of Confucius’s age. The emergence of any ideology must resort to the specified time and social conditions. There can never lack the ideologist’s reflection upon the reality. In the Chunqiu Period was a time of the decline of propriety and music, and the chaos of society. The presence of the situation, according to Confucius, owes to the decline of the public’s ethics. And he contends that only through the adoption of Rites of Zhou could the society be stabilized. However, the inheritance of Rites of Zhou should be in accordance with the reality instead of the ignorance of the specific situation. He also maintained that humanity must be integrated with propriety and that humanity and propriety are closely related with each other. His emphasis upon humanity is for the implement of propriety, and that of propriety for the construction of a stable and harmonious society. Propriety is employed by Confucius to adjust all sorts of paradoxes caused by benefit conflicts and the Doctrine of Mean to measure the secular matters to attain the goal of harmony.Secondly, the thesis has discussed Confucius’s ideology of Chun Tzu. The character of Chun Tzu, according to Confucius, is the presence of a perfect man, which, with his own energy and power, can be regarded as paragons for the whole society, and also can attain the goal of a harmonious society by the shaping the individual’s morality and exerting influence upon the public. Someone with the character of Chun Tzu must be broad minded, be capable of making the right choice between interests and righteousness for the integration of the two, and be able to deal with the conflicts by the employment of the Doctrine of Mean. Everyone can be a Chun Tzu though studying, thinking, practicing and continuously reflection.Besides, Chun Tzu is of great importance in conducting the public and governing the society. When the society is stable, the Chun Tzu shall try in every possible means to maintain the stability and harmony of the society; and when it is in chaos, they should moralize the people around and stabilize the country.Finally, the thesis has also demonstrated inspirations of the character of Chun Tzu upon the development of modern society. It is an undeniable fact that currently, economy is fast developing, and politics is stable in China. However, since our economic system is on the basis of market economy, it is in the transformation from the original planned economy to market economy. On the one hand, with the principle of emphasis upon survival of the fittest, fair competition, efficiency priority and profit chasing, the initiative and creativity of the production of the production operators has been vastly mobilized. On the other hand, the public’s ideology of chasing for profits has been induced. With the pursuit of the maximum profit, some people obtain the filthy wealth on the ignorance of regulations and laws of market economy, which is rather extrude in the transforming period. And the whole society is replaced by the practical and smart off personal relationships. Affection between human beings is much more indifferent and pale. Therefore, we should try to make the character of Chun Tzu beneficial in the settlement of these matters, such as, humanity, attitude toward righteousness and profit, a sense of justice, and the manner of doctrine of mean. The development of the harmonious society of socialism may be put forward with the integration of Chun Tzu ideology and the socialist core value system.In a word, Confucianism is profound, and its character of Chun Tzu is priceless in modern times, therefore, the study of Confucianism and the integration of the spirit of humanity, attitude toward righteousness and profit, a sense of justice, and the manner of doctrine of mean with the socialist core value is of great importance and value in the construction of the socialist harmonious society. |
