Benevolence, wisdom, courage are called the gentlemen’s three greet virtues,"theworld’s has five Road, they are ruler and subject, the father and son, husband and wife, elderbrother and younger brother, friend and friend." This five relationship is the road to thevirtues. Knowledge, benevolence, courage is the three virtues. Confucius see this virtues tothe extreme,"the three virtuous can make the people get away from anxiety confuse andfear."("The Analects of Confucius Zi Han"). In the Confucian tradition of morality, wisdom,benevolence, courage is the important character of a gentleman’s virtue.Confucius advocated the improvement of self-cultivation, the Analects:" I examinatemyself three times a day." he also hopes to become agentleman’s "ideal". This paper want toanalyse "The Analects" as a starting point to analyze the three great virtues connotation andcultivation methods. The first part of this paper analysis of the ideological origins of the"gentleman" and its connotation in "The Analects"; the second part, Brief Analysis theconnotation of the three virtues; third part focuses on the three virtues cultivation methods."the one who study almost know, who exercise almost benevolence, who know the shamealmost brave."...
