Objective To elaluate the clinical effect of improved lymphatic venous end–to-side anastomosis for treating the obstructive lymphedema. Methods Thirty rabbits models with lymphedema in right hindlimb were produced, and devided into three groups randomly:10 for improved lymphatic venous anastomosis treatment(A group), 10 for non-treatment(B group), 10 for traditional lymphatic venous anastomosis treatment(C group) as control. Postoperative difference of volume of the rabbit hindlimb lymohdema were measured regularly and lymphoscint igraphic image was made. Results The volume curve of the affected limb of group A reached the peak within 2 weeks, and then kept declining. The animals’ volume of affected limb of group B showed a trend of increasing slowly. The volume curve of the affected limb of group C was similar to group A within 8 weeks after the operation, but inversely kept increasing after 10 weeks. The volume of the affected limb of group A had significant difference to that of group C at postoperative 20 weeks( P< 0.05). The lymphatic drainage of the affected limb of group A was obviously better than B and C in lymphoscintigraphic image. Deposit of nuclei was lessened. Conclusions The experiment verified that the improved lymphatic venous end–to-side anastomosis had these advantages: decreased technical difficulty, operation is relatively simple, better long-term effect, extensive adaptation.
