Objective:To analyze the clinical characteristics, pathological changes, laboratory examination and prognosis of primary mesangial proliferative glomerulonephritis(Ms PGN) in childhood, in order to contribute to the better clinical treatment.Method:In the period of July 2003 to July 2015, 243 childhood patients who undergoing the Kidney tissue biopsy, with pathological diagnosis of primary mesangial proliferative glomerulonephritis(Ms PGN)in the Children’s Hospital of Chongqing Medical University were retrospectively studied.Result:1.The sex ratio, onset age, risk factors and laboratory experiment were significantly different among the patients with different clinical diagnosis(P<0.05). 2.The moderate mesangial proliferation was dominant in the Ms PGN patients. The degree of mesangial proliferation and IgM sedimentation were more distinct in the NS patients as compared to the Patients with isolated hematuria(P<0.05). 3.The immunoglobulindeposition type was mainly of IgM in the MsPGN patients. The degree of mesangial proliferation was most serious in the IgM group(P<0.05).4.The hormone response and prognosis were related to the degree of mesangial proliferation, the extent of lesion involvement, the tubulointerstitial changes, the type and intensity of the immune deposits.5.Compared to the simple nephrotic syndrome patients, the degree of mesangial proliferation and the tubulointerstitial changes were more serious and the hormone response and prognosis were worse in the Nephritic type of nephrotic syndrome patients(P<0.05).Conclusion:1.In the MsPGN patients, the clinical manifestations are mainly characterized by hematuria and nephrotic syndrome, the pathological changes were mainly the hyperplasia of mesangial cells and matrix.2.The prognosis of most patients with MsPGN is good, but some severe patients are resistant to the hormone treatment. 3.When the patient is diagnosed with nephritis type NS, we should consider the steroid-resistant, and treat them with the combination of CTX and immunosuppressive drugs when necessary.
