Objective : The aim of this study is to compare the maternal and neonatal outcomes of monochorionic and dichorionic twin pregnancies。Methods : A retrospective study involving 175 sets of twin pregnancies followed and delivered at The First Afflicted Hospital of Chongqing Medical University was conducted between January 2014 and June 2015. All the cases were divided into monochorionic group and dichorionic group,to compare the outcome of mothers and fetus。Result:There were 108(61.7%) sets of dichorionic twins,67( 38.3%) sets of monochorionic twins, there was no statistically significant differences in complications between two groups. The incidences of death of one fetus, lost fetus in pregnancy, preterm birth, low birth weight infant, neonatal intensive care unit admission, in monochorionic group were significantly higher than those in dichorionic group. Conclusion:The different chorion properties make no differences incomplications of mothers in pregnancy, but have a close relation to the prognosis of fetus or newborns,so this determination of chorion can aid obstetrical risk assessment and guide management of twin gestation, improve the neonatal prognosis.
