Objective To investigate the expression of Growth arrest and DNA damage-inducible45β(GADD45β)m RNA in warthin tumor of parotid gland comparing to normal parotid gland tissues and discuss its significance.Methods30 cases warthin tumor and the same quantity of normal salivary gland tissues adjacent to the tumors were used in this study. The GADD45β m RNA expression was detected by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR) and Real-time PCR, and the alteration of expression was analyzed.ResμLts The expression level of GADD45β in normal tissues was 1.5162 ± 0.10358, warthin tumor was 1.1768±0.0893. Compared to normal parotid gland tissues, the GADD45βm RNA expression in warthin tumor decreased. There was significant difference(p<0.05)in the expression level of GADD45β among normal tissue and warthin tumor.Conclusions The GADD45β gene may play an important role in the tumorigenesis of warthin tumors.
