Anrederatis Rhizoma derived from bulbils of Anredera cordifolia(Tenore) Steenis, a kind of plant from Basellsceae. It tastes a little bitter and has effects such as reinforcing liver and kidney, nourishing, reinforcing waist and knee, removing swollen and phlegm.Mainly treats waist and knee soreness, physique weakness from an illness and bones broken. Anredera cordifolia(Tenore) Steenis is native to tropics of South America. It was introducted to Southeast Asia in the 1970 s. Now, many places in china planted it.Anredera cordifolia(Tenore) Steenis also known as Tengsanqi, contained in “Yunnan Simao herbal medicine” and “List of traditional Chinese medicine resources in Yunnan”.In recent years, extensive research on cultivation, identification, chemical and pharmacological activity is increasing gradually. Its antioxidant activity has been concerned by researchers, but nobody knows which partion was antioxidant from.Medicine quality standard is never built up. It will obstruct the right way for using medication and restrict exploitation of Anredera cordifolia(Tenore) Steenis.This study including pharmacognosy and molecular pharmacognosy, which lay the foundation for develop a quality standard of Anredera cordifolia(Tenore) Steenis and inquiry the antioxidantion active parts.In this article, Anredera cordifolia(Tenore) Steenis were testing by four kinds of identification of traditional Chinese medicine, and then, building a method which distinguish medicine simpler, faster and higher penetration. This methods including origin identification base on investigation, macroscopic identification on the basis of observation and descrises, microscopic identification with observation about microscopic characteristics of medicinal and physicochemical identification base on mensuration oftotal flavonoids, total polysaccharides and total saponins. Molecular identification is a rapid and accurate method of inentification. This method use Anredera cordifolia(Tenore)Steenis, Anredera scandens(L.)Moq. and Basella rubra L. 28 vegetal samples altogether from different places for DNA sequence screening test by barcoding gap examination and NJ tree evaluation, in order to assess the ability to identify about ITS, ITS2, psbA-trnH,mat K, rbcL. Finally, DNA barcode of Anredera cordifolia(Tenore) Steenis was established. Amid all these experimental result, standard of Anredera cordifolia(Tenore)Steenis was established. Additionally, antioxidant ability was evaluate through DPPH and FRAP experiments.The result is summarized in the appearance of Anredera cordifolia(Tenore) Steenis.The microscopic characteristics for medicinal materials have been fixed already. It contains flavonoids, polysaccharides, saponins. DNA barcode of Anredera cordifolia(Tenore) Steenis was established by ITS and matK. DPPH and FRAP antioxindation experiments in vitro indicatied that alcohol extract both of bulbils and leaves of Anredera cordifolia(Tenore) Steenis have antioxidant activity. Antioxidant activity site is not clear yet.
