The Role Of CBX8 In The Mechanisms Of Colorectal Cancer

ObjectiveThe clinical significance of CBX8 expression in colorectal cancer remains unclear. The aim of this study was to investigate the expression of CBX8 in colorectal cancer and the association between CBX8 protein expression and prognosis. Participants and MethodsTo collect 172 patients who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria in The Tumor Hospital of Shanxi between 2005 and 2010. The protein expression levels of CBX8 was determined using real time-PCR、 immunohistochemistry staining, and the relationship between the CBX8 protein level and clinicopathological parameters were analyzed. ResultsThe expression of CBX8 in colorectal cancer was significantly higher than that in adjacent tissues(P <0.05). The expression of CBX8 in colorectal cancer was unrelated with patient’s sex, age and colorectal cancer or colon cancer,but was related with the differentiation of tumor cell, preoperative CEA levels, whether vascular invasion and TNM stage. ConclusionThe expression of CBX8 in colorectal cancer was significantly higher, and showed a good prognosis. CBX8 may become the new biomarker of colorectal cancer metastasis.
