Objective:By measuring the advanced glycation end products(AGEs) and ankle brachial index (ABI) of pre-diabetes mellitus, to explore the correlation between them, so as to provide basis for early intervention of pre-diabetes’s lower extremity angiopathy. Methods:The study includes 155 cases and all of them were divided into four grou-ps, including50 cases of pre-diabetes mellitus (PDM),28 cases of with essential hypertension(EH),25 cases of pre-diabetes mellitus with essential hypertension (PDM&EH),52 cases of normal controls(NC).All the cases in this study are used Doppler flow detector to measure ABI and Enzyme-linked immunosorbent method to measure AGEs concentration. Then, the correlation between AGEs and ABI or other indicators is analyzed.Results:1、simple linear correlation analysis:AGEs is negative correlation with ABI, and is positively correlation with LDL and FPG;2、Dichotomy of Logistic regression analysis:AGEs is a risk factor of ABI.3、In all of the PDM, the AGEs levels in scritical group (1.4≥ABI≥1.0) are both significantly higher than those in normal group (0.9<ABI<1.0) (P<0.05)4、The age, WHR, TG, LDL and AGEs are significantly different between the four groups (P<0.05)Conclusion:During the PDM, there is association between AGEs and ABI.That is,a patient with lower ABI owns higher AGEs.Maybe, there is association between AGEs and the risk of lower extremity angiopathy, but this should be confirmed by further study...
