Objective:To understand the epidemiological characteristics of children’s refractive status and index in Jinhua, and explore the relevant factor of refractive development and myopia progression in adolescents. Finally, to provide evidence for the prevention and control of myopia.Method:Cross sectional study.13569 students were selected in 10 schools:3 kindergartens, 6 primary schools,1 middle schools. The age, sex and family history of the students were investigated by questionnaire. The student’s distant visual acuity, refraction, axial length, writing hand position, height and weight were detected by technician. SPSS 17.0 for statistical analysis.Result:The prevalence rate of myopia in 7~12,13~15 and 15 years old were respectively 29.5%,72.4% and 82.4%. The average degree of myopia increased with age, and more than -3.00D at the age of 15. Middle and high myopia patients in the 13-15 years old students increased significantly, moderate myopia in 15 years old students were as high as 41%, high myopia patients up to 14.7%. The degree of myopia increased with age, and more than -3.00D at the age of 15. With the increase of age, the axial length of the emmetropia and myopia was increased, but the axial growth of myopia was more obvious. The axial eye length of hyperopia, emmetropia, low myopia, moderate myopia and severe myopia were respectively 22.55±1.11mm,23.04±1.31mm,24.17±1.00mm, 25.13±1.23mm and 26.02±2.07mm. The deeper the degree of myopia, the longer the length of the axial length of the eye. Parents myopia, writing hand position, BMI correlated with the prevalence of myopia.Conclusion:The tendency of myopia of children in this area is obvious, and the prevalence rate of myopia is higher than the national level. Therefore, we should strengthen the prevention and treatment of myopia. Therefore, We could make the early warning and assessment of the severity of myopia by measuring the eye axis.
