Objective1. To evaluate comprehensively the clinical therapy of two groups and research the mechanism of action of the Supplemented Collaterals-Activating Decoction on the acute period cerebral infarction through observing the changes of NT-proBNP concentration, Neural Function Defects Scale (NFDS) and TCM Syndrome Score Scale (TCMSSS) before and after treatments of two groups.2. To evaluate comprehensively the clinical therapy of two groups and research the mechanism of action of the Supplemented Collaterals-Activating Decoction through the changes of NT-proBNP concentration.MethodsA total of 60 patients in the acute period cerebral infarction belonging to the syndrome of Qi deficiency and blood stasis with Yin deficiency admitted in Inpatient Department of Department of Neurology, Guangzhou Hospital of TCM from February,2015 to February,2016 were selected as study objects and randomly divided into two groups by Random Number Table, treatment group (30 cases), control group (30 cases). Before treatment, there was no significant difference in the general data (including ages, genders, NT-proBNP concentration, NFDS, TCMSSS among 2 groups (P>0.05) with balanced baseline and comparability. On the basis of basic therapies for patients with cerebral infarction, treatment group was added with oral Supplemented Collaterals-Activating Decoction (200ml bid), nasal feeding was needed if necessary. The preparation method of Supplemented Collaterals-Activating Decoction was that milkvetch root (30g)、eucommia bark(15g)、Chinese angelica (12g)、Chinese taxillus herb (15g)、tangshen (15g)、dwarf lilyturf tuber (20g)、Chinese magnoliavine fruit (5g)、leech (10g) and danshen root (10g) were decocted with water together in the automatic boiling machine(Made in Korea,model:HL-10) one time in a day. The decoction was separated in two bags with 200ml in each bag for the patients twice a day,14 days as a cycle. To compare the changes of NT-proBNP concentration, TCM Syndrome Score Scale (TCMSSS) and Neural Function Defects Scale (NFDS) before and after treatments and evaluate therapy of two groups.Results1. Comparison of NT-proBNP concentration scoresNT-proBNP concentration scores decreased to some extent in two groups after treatment and there were significant differences when compared before treatment (P<0.01). There were significant differences between two groups, after treatment, treatment group was evidently smaller than control group (P=0.047, P<0.05). Take the difference of NT-proBNP concentration scores in each group before and after treatment as an independent sample, there were significant differences between two groups (P=0.004, P<0.05)2. Comparison of NFDS scores and therapyNFDS scores decreased to some extent in two groups after treatment and there were significant differences when compared before treatment (P<0.01). There were significant differences between two groups, after treatment, treatment group was evidently smaller than control group (P=0.010, P<0.05). Take the difference of NFDS scores in each group before and after treatment as an independent sample, there were significant differences between two groups (P<0.001). The evaluation results of clinical efficacy of therapy of 2 groups showed that the clinical efficacy of control group and treatment group were 66.7% and 90%, respectively, and there were significant differences among 2 groups (P<0.005).3. Comparison of TCM Syndrome Scores and therapyTCM Syndrome Scores decreased to some extent in two groups after treatment and there were significant differences when compared before treatment (P<0.01). There were significant differences between two groups, after treatment, treatment group was evidently smaller than control group (P=0.005, P<0.05). Take the difference of TCM Syndrome Scores in each group before and after treatment as an independent sample, there were significant differences between two groups (P<0.001). The evaluation results of clinical efficacy of therapy of 2 groups showed that the clinical efficacy of control group and treatment group were 83.3% and 100%, respectively, and there were significant differences among 2 groups (P<0.05).Conclusions1. The therapy of two groups both can decrease the NT-proBNP concentration scores, NFDS scores, TCM Syndrome Scores in some extent and improve the clinical symptoms.2. The Supplemented Collaterals-Activating Decoction decrease the NT-proBNP concentration scores, NFDS scores, TCM Syndrome Scores more evidently, clinical efficacy is significantly higher than the control group.3. Treating both manifestation and root cause of disease and Using the Supplemented Collaterals-Activating Decoction for the patients in the acute period cerebral infarction belonging to the syndrome of Qi deficiency and blood stasis with Yin deficiency has better clinical efficacy than using western medicine alone.4. Using the Supplemented Collaterals-Activating Decoction for the patients in the acute period cerebral infarction belonging to the syndrome of Qi deficiency and blood stasis with Yin deficiency can decrease the rate of disability, improve the survival quality and provide clinical evidence for treating both manifestation and root cause of disease to the patients in the acute period cerebral infarction.
