Objective : In this study, we through summarize the application of neural navigation in minimally invasive surgery in department of neurosurgery and its advantages and limitations, and provide theoretical guidance for the clinical application of navigation technology.Method : Application of Pub Med, CNKI, Wanfang Data retrieval system, related literatures in Chinese and English were searched with the keywords "Neural navigation; minimally invasive neurosurgery;application" and combine with "brain tumors, skull base surgery, pituitary adenoma, functional neurosurgery, cerebrovascular disease, brain biopsy, endoscopic, spine surgery", and research and inductive analysis it, then summarize the latest research achievements and progress.Result: In some neurosurgery, neural navigation is of great significance for accurate localization of the lesions, best surgical approach options, improve the rate of total resection of the lesion, and reduce postoperative complications compared with the traditional surgical approach to accurate positioning, break through the previous surgical contraindication, reduce the damage, significantly improve the quality of life in patients. Conclusion: Neural navigation can be used to ensure precise positioning in Neurosurgery, through the previous surgical contraindication, greatly reduce the iatrogenic injury, improve patients quality of life. In the field of functional neurosurgery, deep, smaller brain lesions, lesions in eloquent areas, cerebrovascular disease, cranial base lesions also show great value in studies and applications, but there are also brain shift and limitations. Fully grasp the advantages and limitations of current neural navigation technology, understand its future development direction and the tendency, in order to more skilled application of neuronavigation in clinical work has important significance.
