Purpose: The mechanism of acupuncture is always a hot research for domestic and foreign scholars. motor cortex excitability and inhibition can be a meaningful index for researching the mechanism of acupuncture, but research in this area is less.In this study, we use the transcranial magnetic stimulation for researching the effect of acupuncture at Zusanli on motor cortex excitability and inhibition, and compared with non-acupoint.In order to explore the mechanism of acupuncture, and provide a neurological theoretical basis for the clinical application of acupuncture. Methods: Recruited and selected 40 healthy subjects. This study includes two experiments, each experiment random selects 20 subjects. We choose the Zusanli and the non-acupoint as the control acupoint. In experiment one, we research The effect of acupuncture at Zusanli on motor cortex excitability, We tested motor evoked potential(MEP) in the following time, resting, immediately after acupuncture,4 minutes after acupuncture,8 minutes after acupuncture, immediately after needle injection,4 minutes after needle injection and 8 minutes after needle injection. In experiment two,we research the the effect of acupuncture at Zusanli on motor cortex inhibition, We tested the short interval inhibition(SICI) and long interval suppression(LICI) in the following time, before acupuncture needling, immediately after acupuncture and immediately after needle injection. It means the motor cortex inhibition. All data was analyzed with SPIKE2 and SPSS20.0.Results:(1)The result of the Deqiscale: when acupuncture Zusanli, the average score of Deqisense is higher than non-acupoint,and has a significant difference, every sense(suan,ma,zhang, zhong, tong) also has a significant difference(P<0.05).(2)The result of experiment one:we found that immediately after acupuncture Zusanli,4minutes after acupuncture and immediately after needle injection compared to the resting have significant difference in the MEP amplitude(P<0.05).During acupuncture non-acupoint, the other time compared to resting have no significant difference in the MEP amplitude. We also found that immediately after acupuncture,4minutes after acupuncture and immediately after needle injection have significant difference in the MEP amplitude(P<0.05).The experiment one indicates that acupuncture Zusanli can specific affect the motor cortex excitability when compared with non-acupoint.(3)The result of experiment two: we found that immediately after acupuncture compared to the resting has a significant difference in SICI and LICI during acupuncture Zusanli(P<0.05). During acupuncture non-acupoint, the SICI and LICI of immediately after acupuncture has no significant difference in the MEP amplitude compared to the resting. The experiment two indicates that acupuncture Zusanli can reduce the inhibition of motor cortex. Conclusions: Acupuncture Zusanli compared to non-acupoint can specific affect the MEP amplitude and increase the excitability of motor cortex, it also has a subsequent effect in the time of retaining needle.Acupuncture Zusanli can reduce motor cortex inhibition. Deqiis the key to the efficacy of acupuncture and also the key of the specifity when Zusanli compared to non-acupoint. |
