The Study Of Shuganyishentongluo Method In Effect On Patients With Ankylosing Spondylitis And Depression

ObjectiveTo evaluate the clinical effects of Shuganyishentongluo method on depression, clinical symptoms, clinical signs and pain in patients with ankylosing spondylitis(AS) by observing the changes in disease activity, function and self-rating depression scale.Methods60 cases with ankylosing spondylitis associated with depression were randomly divided into treatment group and control group, and there are 30 cases each group. Both groups were routinely applied conventional western medicine therapy (sulfasalazine tablets 0.75g three times a day and meloxicam capsules 15mg onec at night). The treatment group were treated with Shuganyishentongluo method(Chaihul5g, Xiangfu10g, ChuanxionglOg, Baishaol5g, MuxianglOg, FoshoulOg ,Hehuanpil5g, Sangjisheng30g, Duzhongl5g, Niuxil5g, Qingfengteng30g, Gancao5g) and conventional western medicine. The treatment of control group were conventional western medicine only,8 weeks for a course each group. In order to evaluate the clinical effects of this method objectively, the following indicators such as BASFI score, BASDAI score, PGA score, refers to land distance, Schober test, C-reactive protein, ESR, the regular test of blood, the liver and kidney function test and the SDS score were used to detect before and after treatment.Results①The total curative effect of treatment group:clinical cure 3 cases (10%), markedly effective 12 cases (40%), effective 14cases(46.7%), invalid 1 cases (3.3%), the total efficiency of 96.7%. The control group:clinical cure 1 cases (3.3%), markedly effective 7 cases (23.3%), effective 17 cases (56.7%), invalid 5 cases(16.7%), the total efficiency of 83.3%.Significant difference can be seen from the comparison of two groups (P<0.05).②After treatment, the SDS scores of both groups were lower than the scores before treatment obviously (P<0.01), and the SDS scores of treatment group was lower than the scores of control group significantly (P<0.05)③After treatment, the index (BASDAI、BASFI、pain VAS、PGA、ESR、CRP, etc.) of both group were better than before treatment significantly. (P< 0.01)Conclusions①Shuganyishentongluo method is an effective clinical treatment for patients with AS and depressive state, the total curative effect of treatment group is better than control group.②The patients’clinical symptoms, signs and inflammatory marks can be reduced obviously by using Shuganyishentongluo treatment.③It can also reduce the patients’SDS degree and improve the patients’ life quality significantly.④Shuganyishentongluo prescription can be an ideal treatment of traditional Chinese medicine for the patients with ankylosing spondylitis associated with depression since its security and effectiveness.
