ObjectiveTo evaluate the incidence of preeclampsia after a long duration of sperm exposure or a short duration of sperm exposure with the biological father.MethodsAnalyze the clinical and follow-up data of 509 single birth primigravid women who get pregnant for the first time in Women’s Hospital,School of Medicine, Zhejiang University. They were divided into two groups according to the duration of sperm exposure, short duration of sperm exposure (≤3 months) and long duration of sperm exposure (≥12 months) with the biological father. Basic information and clinical characteristics in each group were evaluated.ResultA total of 509 patients were followed, included 384 short duration of sperm exposure and 125 long duration of sperm exposure. These two groups had no statistical significant in patient’s BMI, education level, incidence of Gestational Hypertension, Gestational Diabetes Mellitus. Intrahepatic Cholestasis of Pregnancy, delivery way, dead fetus, term delivery, premature delivery, abortion, male infant, fetal malformation, macrosomia and low birth weight (P<0.05). The long duration of sperm exposure group are older than the short duration group (27.37±3.18 year-old vs 31.33±3.35 year-old, P<0.05). The incidence of preeclampsia of short duration of sperm exposure group are significant higher than the long duration group(5.7%vs0.8%, OR=0.133, 95%CI 0.02-1.00).ConclusionA long duration of sperm exposure with the biological father may reduce the incidence of preeclampsia.
