Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the clinical effect of percutaneous diffusion kyphoplasty for vertebral compression fracture and evaluate its safety and efficacy.Materials and Methods: From January 2011 to December 2014,88 patients with vertebral compression fracture were treated by percutaneous diffusion kyphoplasty. There were 25 males and 63 females with a mean age of 68.1 years(range, 39 to 87 years). The number of cases diagnosed as osteoporosis, trauma or tumor was 62,23,3 respectively. Results:All patients were completely followed up from 6 months to 36 months with an average periods of 18±6 months. Postoperative patients’ VAS scores of back pain, early ODI scores,SF-36 scores(the 36-item short form health survey),the AVBH(anterior vertebral body height),the MCBH(middle vertebral body height),the PVBH(posterior vertebral body height),the Cobb angle of the back of the spine were statistically improved, compared with Preoperative. Conclusion:percutaneous diffusion kyphoplasty for the treatment of vertebral compression fracture can be performed microinvasive, less bleeding and effective. A good grasp of its indications, avoiding the contraindication of the surgery, preventing the complication of the surgery, giving regularly antiosteoporosis treatment to the osteoporosis patients if her BMD(bone mineral density) is less than-2.5,appling intensively antiosteoporosis treatment, which is important to obtain satisfactory outcomes.
