Objective:To investigate the behavioral changes and the dynamic expression of Navl.8 mRNA in the dorsal root ganglion (DRG) of rats in spared nerve injury after pulsed radiofrequency treatment.Methods:Thirty-two SD rats were randomly divided into four groups: control group (C group), model group (SNI group), sham treatment group (Sham group) and treatment group (PRF group). The mechanical withdrawal threshold(MWT) were measured before SNI surgery, after SNI surgery in 4,6,8,10 days, and after PRF treatment in 6,12,18,24,30,36,42 days, respectively. The expression of Nav1.8mRNA on dorsal root ganglion were quantified by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR) in each group at 6,42 days after PRF treatment, respectively. Results:The MWT of SNI group, Sham group and PRF group were significantly lower than that control group after SNI surgery (P<0.01).The MWT and the expression of Nav1.8 mRNA of PRF group were significantly higher than that of SNI group and Sham group after PRF treatment (P<0.01).Conclusion:PRF provides an effective treatment for SNI neuropathic pain rats, which might be regulated through the expression of Nav1.8.
