ObjectivePerioperative’fast track’was important for patients after surgery in rapid recovery, improvement of fatigue and shorter hospital stay. The Chinese medicine plays an important role in rapid recovery after gastrointestinal tumors surgery. Shengyangyiwei decoction was routine decoction after gastrointestinal cancer surgery in the Gstrointestinal Surgery Dpartment of Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Chinese Medicine. The clinical data was retrospected to observe the gastrointestinal function recovery and postoperative fatigue with Shengyangyiwei decoction after laparoscopic distal gastrectomy.MethodsDecoction Group and Control Group were respectively collected 40 patients who match the inclusion criteria. Rapid rehabilitation measures were used in the Control Group (CG), Rapid rehabilitation measures and Shengyangyiwei decoction was given in the Decoction Group (DG) until discharged. The first flatus, stools, bloating and postoperative fatigue scores in the first day, third day, fifth day and Seventh day was observed.ResultsThe mean first flatus was 4.23 day in the Decoction Group (DG) and 4.23 day in the Control Group(P>0.05). the mean first stools was 5.43 day in the DG and 5.35 day in the CG(P>0.05). The mean hospital stay was 8.70 day in the DG and 8.47 day in the CG(P>0.05). At the first day after surgery, the mean VAS was 9.75 in the DG and 9.70 in the CG(p>0.05). At the third day after surgery, the mean VAS was 6.60 in the DG and 8.47 in the CG (P=0.045). At the fifth day, the mean VAS was 4.48 in the DG and 5.05 in the CG (/M).02). The bloating was occurred in 5 patients in the DG (12.5%), and 4 patients in the CG (10%) (P>0.05). The postoperative complications was occurred in 5 patients in the DG (12.5%), pulmonary infection was occurred in two patients, incision infection in one patient, inflammatory obstruction in two patients. In the CG, the postoperative complications were occurred in 4 patients, pulmonary infection was occurred in three patients, inflammatory obstruction in one patient.GonclusionPostoperative fatigue was common after laparoscopic distal gastrectomy (LDG). The improvement of the recovery of gastrointestinal function was not obvious with Shengyangyiwei decoction after surgery. However, the improvement of the visual analogue score was observed in the third and fifth day with Shengyangyiwei decoction after LDG.
