Objective Oral squamous cell carcinoma is one of the most common malignant tumors. The morbidity of OSCC increase every year, and the onset of patients are gradually developing in the direction of the young age, and these will be more or less the normal life of patients with a certain degree of impact, and even may be of the patient’s life to a certain extent. In the late stages of OSCC, some cases will transfer associated with lymph node into the distance, and there are a few cases have been treated and is easy to recur, these will likely bring to the treatment and prognosis of patients with a lot of difficulties, at the same time, for the clinician, these also is very severe and complicated problem. For many years, there are a lot of researchers both in depth and study the occurrence and development of OSCC, metastasis and recurrence of mechanism, but so far, still have not found the sensitivity is relatively high, specific markers for is relatively strong, so that in the early days of the tumor, timely discover and then take effective treatment measures, makes the development of the disease control. In recent years, found that cyclooxygenase-2 were expressed in many tumors. This experiment by detecting COX-2 in OSCC tissues, DOM tissues and NOM tissues expression in the organization, and analysis of experimental results and the experimental data, so as to further explore and study the COX-2 play a role in the occurrence and development of OSCC, is expected to provide more effective treatment for OSCC, so as to make the prognosis of patients with OSCC in aspects such as the corresponding improvement. Methods Col ection of Anhui medical university affiliated stomatological hospital and the first affiliated hospital of Anhui medical university hospital surgery patient specimens, which collected 50 cases of OSCC tissues, DOM group 20 cases, all specimens are confirmed through two pathology doctors. Additional y col ected 20 cases of NOM tissue samples, these organizations are from not cancer and precancerous lesions in patients with tooth extraction surgery to remove the gum tissue. Using immunohistochemical SP method detection of 50 cases of OSCC tissues and 20 cases of DOM, 20 cases of NOM, the test data application SPSS17.0 software for processing, chi-square test method. Results Immunohistochemical results show that COX-2 in NOM, DOM or have different levels of expression in OSCC tissues. COX-2 positive expression was mainly located in the cell cytoplasm and cell membrane. Positive expression rate of COX-2 in OSCC tissues(78%) than in DOM tissues(45%) and in NOM tissues(10%). COX-2 positive expression rate in low differentiation(100%) than in OSCC differentiation in OSCC(72.22%) and high differentiation(60%) in OSCC. The study also found that patients with tumor location and factors such as age, gender, the expression of COX-2in case no effect, and the existence of OSCC lymph node metastasis will result in the expression of COX-2 level change. Conclusion The experiment verified the COX-2 in OSCC tissues have greatly, the expression of this and COX-2expression in the DOM and NOM tissue exist significant difference. COX-2expression level is changed with different degree of differentiation of OSCC, relatively high in low differentiation OSCC, fol owed in moderately differentiation OSCC; in high differentiation OSCC is relatively low. Can infer COX-2 in development in OSCC was able to play a role. COX-2through discussion and study of the role in the occurrence and development of OSCC, is expected to provide more effective treatment for OSCC, thus to improve the prognosis of patients with OSCC can also make new breakthroughs.
