Objective:By analyzing the relationship between stress hyperglycemia and clinical spinal trauma postoperative infection, obtained non-diabetic patients with stress hyperglycemia and spinal trauma surgery postoperative infection in. Methods :Select Age≥18 years of age, due to orthopedic spinal trauma patient in need of urgent surgical intervention for the study.Exclude diabetes, other organs associated injuries, cortisol drug use history,ICU patients and patients with limb fractures. How to obtain the blood glucose level is defined by hyperglycemia it is carried out in two ways.First, there are two or more patients with fasting glucose value 8mmol / L is determined. Secondly, high glycemic index(general method of glycemic control during hospitalization a validation), have carried out an assessment of each patient. The index value reached 1.76(equivalent to7.8mmol / L) indicates that a high blood sugar.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES are blood glucose level, high glycemic index, and 30 days after infection relations arise. Results :790 cases of patients, 21 cases of surgical site infection(SSIs) in 30-day postoperative follow-up. Age, race, comorbidities and postoperative transfusion were not associated with30-day SSI. In 790 cases of patients, 294 cases had at least one blood glucose level reached 11.1mmol / L,associated with SSI: At least once a blood glucose level ≥11.1mmol/ 294 patients L in 13 patients(4.4%) occurred the SSIs, but not once the blood glucose level ≥11.1mmol / 496 L patients in only 8 patients(1.6%) occurred in SSIs.(P = 0.02).790 people, high glycemic index ≥1.76 134 cases, which also is associated with SSI: This occurred in 10 of 134 cases of SSI, while the other 656 cases, only 11 cases occurred SSI,P <0.001.Conclusions :Twice or more than twice the blood glucose ≥11.1mmol / L or high glycemic index ≥1.76 spinal trauma surgery infection is a risk factor.
