Objective: To evaluate the clinical outcomes and complications of cementation of polyethylene(PE) liner into a well- fixed acetabular cup in the revision total hip arthroplasty with retained stable cup. Methods: Between March 2012 and November 2014,9 patients(9hips) underwent revision total hip arthroplasty with cementation of polyethylene liner into a well- fixed acetabular cup, There were 1 male and 8 females, aged 43.7 years on average(range,24-63 years),the time 9.4years on average(range,3-15years)from the primary total hip arthroplasty to revision.evaluated the Harris Hip Score and analyse the complications of the revision surgery. Results: all patients follow up an average 24.2months(range,8-37months)postoperatively, the Harris Hip Scores before revision averaged(49.54±18.28)points,improved to an average of(84.82±10.59)points at the time of the last follow up.O ne patient had re-revision surgery because of recurrent dislocation, there are not complications occurred in other patients, resulting in 11% failure rate. Conclusion: polyethylene liner cementation technique safe and effective for when the well- positioned and well- fixed acetabular cup retained.
