Objective: To make a systematic review and meta analysis about the effect of leukotriene antagonist for the treatment of chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polps(CRSw NP). Method: We searched the database and science periodical by computer and handwork for related articles and clinical trials of leukotriene antagonist treating CRSwNP. Trial screening, quality assessment of included trials, and data extract were conducted. Statistical analysis was conducted by using RevMan 5.3 software. Result: At last 10 papers were choosed(all are observation study). 2 papers are used meta analysis, others used discribing analysis. The two studies used in meta-analysis showed a standardized mean difference of pooled overall symptom scores of 0.02(95% confidence interval,-0.39-0.44) between LTA and INCS study arms, indicating no difference between the treatment modalities. Improvement was described by all studies in symptoms, clinical outcomes, and/or immune parameters after LTA treatment, with greater improvements in a subset of symptoms beyond that observed with INCSs. Concomitant asthma, aspirin-exacerbated respiratory disease, and atopy did not significantly or consistently affect these results. Conclusion: The meta analysis shows leukotriene antagonist tends to improve the Clinical efficacy of CRSw NP as an adjunctive therapy.Due to the insufficient quantity of trials included, more RCTs of high quality and large scale are required.
