The Efficacy Of UW And HTK Solutions On Liver Graft Storage And Transplantation - A Meta Analysis

Objective:To evaluate the efficacy of UW and HTK solutions on liver graft storage and transplantation.Methods:Literatures have been searched by using Pub Med,EMbase(1980-),Ovid Medline(1948-),The Cochrane Library,Wanfang data,VIP data from inception to October 2015 with the key words including organ preservation,storage solutions,Histidine-tryptophan-ketoglutarate,HTK solution,HTK,custodial,bretschneider,University of wisconsin,UW solution,UW,viaspan,cardiosol,belzer solution,hepatic transplantation,liver transplantation,viscera transplantation,liver grafts,hepatic grafts,liver allografts,hepatic allografts,器官移植,器官保存液,肝移植,比较.Two reviewers independently evaluated all the literatures and extracted data.The risk of bias for all the studies has been assessed.All the subjects were catagorized into the UW and HTK groups.Count data were represented by the odds ratio(OR)and 95%confidence interval(CI)and measuarement data were represented by the standardized mean difference(SMD)and 95%CI.The heterogeneity of the studies was analyzed using the I2 test.Results:Eleven literatures including 2 randomized controlled trial and 9retrospective cohort studies were enrolled.The total subjects(n=34475)were divided into UW group with 25248 cases,and HTK group with 9227 cases.There were no significant differences in the primary nonfunction rates,retransplant rates,1-year patients and grafts overall survival rates and postoperative complications between the 2 groups(OR=1.18,0.84,0.97,1.02,1.49,95%CI:0.55~2.57,0.47~1.50,0.66~1.42,0.66~1.58,0.97~2.30,P>0.05).There were also no significant differences in the 1st postoperative serum ALT,AST,TBil levels between the two groups(SMD=-0.19,-0.30,0.30,95%CI:-0.62~0.23,-0.7~0.10,-0.01~0.61,P>0.05).Conclusions:Data from the above studies showed that there were no statistical significance for the efficacy of liver graft storage and transplantation between UW and HTK solutions.
