ObjectiveTo investigate the application of e-PTFE combined with septal cartilage to correction nasal deformities and evaluation the therapeutic effect. Methods39 patients were received operation from January 2013 to August 2015. 39 cases of patients through butterfly incision to ala, the cartilage of bilateral nasal alar were released fully. The septum cartilage was harvested, which was shaped into single band and implanted between the septum and the alar cartilage on the cleft side. Obay the original incision and subunits feature of the nasal, the “arch” shape e-PTFE stent were pruned and placed in the collapse of the nasal alar, the “crescent” shaped e-PTFE prosthesis pad on the nearby verge of anterior nasal aperture to re-built collumella, nose tip, nasal alar and the three-dimensional structure support system at the same time. The “willow-like” e-PTFE placed to the bridge of nose. Different operation measures were selected according to the different clinical features of the lip deformity. Pre- and postoperative patient’s pictures was performed.3 non-researchers use VAS scale and researcher use image J 1.49 software to evaluation subjective and objective satisfaction respectively, after operation. Results39 patients, 3 cases were lost, the remaining follow-up period of 1~24 months. 3 non-researchers(patients’ parents, head nurse, non surgery doctor)evaluation by VAS scale assessment results as follows:(1) Patients’ parents, the head nurse, non-surgical doctors holds that the effect of postoperative unacceptable accounted for 5.13%, 2.55% and 2.55% respectively;(2) Patients’ parents, the head nurse, non-surgical doctors holds that the effect of postoperative could acceptable accounted for 12.82%, 20.53% and 20.53% respectively;(3) Patients’ parents, the head nurse, non-surgical doctors holds that the satisfactory effect of postoperative accounted for 82.05%, 76.92% and 76.92% respectively, in the table 1. Pre- and postoperative results by Image J 1.49 software measured, There were significant differences in Image J 1.49 assessment scale(p<0.05) in the table 2. 36 cases were followed up from 1 month to 24 months with satisfactory outcome and stablized effect with no oblique columella,straight nasal tip,and symmetric nostril. ConclusionThe mechanism and causes of cleft lip nasal deformity is complex, Making full use of nasal septum cartilage is favorable to avoid opening up second operation area reduction patient’s suffering. E-PTFE not only remedied the nasal septum cartilage limitation but improve malformation effectively combined with graft septum cartilage.VAS scale and Image 1.49 software suitable for the postoperative therapeutic effect evaluation.
