BcakgroudDecline in glomerular filtration rate is often accompanied by some pathophysiological changes, such as hypercoagulability, hyperuricemia, high homocysteine, calcium and phosphorus metabolism, oxidative stress, inflammation, endothelial dysfunction, which can accelerate the progress of atherosclerosis in arteries, atherosclerosis is the basic cause of ischemic cerebrovascular disease.Reeenily, lots of studies have discussed the association between hyperuricemia and cerebral vascular disease, cerebral artery stenosis, also the association between chronic renal failure and the prevalence of cardiovascular disease. The study retrospective analyzes clinical data in patients with ischemic cerebrovascular disease, designed to investigate the glomerular filtration rate whether has relationship with arterial stenosis in patients with ischemic cerebrovascular.ObjectiveTo discuss the association between glomerular filtration rate (GFR) and artery stenosis in patients with ischemic cerebrovascular disease.MethodsRetrospective analysis the data of 199 patients with ischemic cerebrovascular disease underwent digital subtraction angiography(DSA),and they were separated into four groups according to the findings of cerebral angiography:51 cases with normal artery stenosis were selected as control group,49 cases who had single artery stenosis more than 50%,42 cases who had double artery stenosis more than 50%,57 cases who had multiple artery stenosis more than 50%.GFR was estimated by modification of diet in renal disease (MDRD) eduation. The subjects were divied into three groups according to GFR level in tertile:GFR<83.93 mL/(min.1.73m2)(low level group,66 cases) 83.93 mL/(min.1.73m2)≤GFR<101.42mL/(min.1.73m2) (horizontal level group,67 cases)、GFR≥101.42 mL/(min.1.73m2) (high level group,66 cases). The relationship between GFR level and artery stenosis was explored.ResultsCompared wih the control group, the more artery stenosis was the lower level of GFR apart from single artery stenosis group. The differences had statistical significances (P<0.05).In the low level GFR group, the double and multiple group proportions were higher than the control group and single group (χ2=18.505,P<0.001).In the horizontal level of GFR,the differences among every group had no statistical significances (χ2=2.448,P=0.485).In the high Level GFR group.the control group and single group proportions were higher than the double and multiple group (χ2 =8.282,P=0.041).Logistic regression analysis shows that the reduced GFR is one of the independent risk factors of artery stenosis in patients with ischemic cerebrovascular disease(OR=0.982,P=0.034).ConclusionThe reduced GFR correlates with the severit of artery stenosis in patients with ischemic cerebrovascular disease. This may has potential clinical value as markers for identification of artery stenosis in patients with ischemic cerebrovascular disease, reduced GFR is an independent risk factors for ischemic cerebrovascular disease.
